South Mesa Hike

We wandered around in the desert to the west of our RV, wandered for 4.7 miles.  From our campsite the desert looks fairly flat between here and the mountains about two miles away.  But when you climb down off the mesa, you find it is full of ups (to slight mounds and ridges) and downs (into washes full of mesquite and palo verde).  It was a relaxing walk made pleasant by the slightly overcast day and cooling breeze.  I can’t imagine taking this walk on a sunny day where the temperature was more than 70–degrees.
