Desert View Loop
We had to move today. We had planned to stay here just three days, but decided to extend another two days. It was not unexpected that we couldn’t stay in the same site. Moving is not a problem: bring in the chairs, make sure all doors and drawers are shut, and take down the sun shield from the front windows. Our new site, 204, has a spectacular view out into the desert as we are at the south most end of the campground. We also have a family of quail running about.
Our walk was about 2.5 miles round trip from our campsite up to the top of one of the peaks next to the campground. It was a well-constructed trail with a great view when we reached the top. Benches at the top for relaxing and enjoying the view. The guide suggests that this is a great hike to take at dusk or dawn. Along the way are signs describing some of the desert plants and their uses.
