Plans Change

The plan: Get up in the morning and head to El Paso. With all the unsettled weather across the country, the one place that looked to have warmer and, perhaps calmer, weather is Texas.

But we awoke to driving rain and winds with gusts up to 30-miles per hour. We checked with the Roper Lake SP office and found we could stay here another night if we moved to site #13. We did and were very happy to be sitting in our warm van as the wind, rain, and then SNOW whipped about us.

We did take one walk, wearing winter coats, gloves, and hats, but not for long. The mountains in the distance are now covered with snow where yesterday there was just a cap.
