Fredericton to Fundy NP

Fredericton to Fundy NP

We finally found a cooler place.

After a quick stop in Fredericton (the state capital of New Brunswick and a lovely town) for fuel and water, we headed southeast to Fundy NP.

Again the drive was rather uninteresting until we started to gain elevation and had views of farm fields, the St. John River , and hills.  We finally reached an overlook from which we could view the bay and Nova Scotia — except that the fog over the bay was so dense that we could hardly see it.

Fundy NP has three campgrounds.  For now we are at Point Wolfe.  A beautiful campground nestled in among hardwoods and spruce.  Our site is lovely — large spruce trees on one side and an open field on the other with resident bunnies and a ground hog.

After an early dinner we walked down to the beach – just a little over 1-mile round-trip.  It was low tide so there was lots of rocky shore, but lots of fog too.  So much so that one could become disoriented and lost.

The campground has water spigots and restrooms with flush toilets. Some sites have electric, but those are lined up right next to each other. All sites have picnic tables and fire rings. Firewood and ice are available for sale. ATT service is a bit funky — fast sometimes, then very slow.
