Green River State Park
We left the four-wheeling area of the San Rafael Swell, and drove to Green River. On our thirty mile trip we determined that our trash bag and duct tape fix for the window was not going be sufficient at high speeds. It held together fine but the noise was unbearable. Our first stop in Green River was the Ace hardware where we purchased two rolls of duct tape and a large cardboard box.
We then checked in to the Green River State Park where we could dump our tanks and trash, and spent an hour or so covering the window.
Next, we headed west on I-70 to look at the Swell from the road. There are some amazing canyons, buttes, mountains, and towers to be seen from the viewing stops along the road. The good news is that the window cover worked perfectly – practically no noise.
Green River SP is a lovely campground next to a golf course on the side of Green River. The sites are pricey, $45, but nicely spaced with water and electric. Cottonwoods provide shade and there are picnic tables and fire rings. We have ATT 5G cell service.
