Cavendish Campground – PEI NP

Cavendish Campground is the westerly campground in Prince Edward NP. With over 200 sites, it has a site for everyone. There are sites with beach view, sites wooded with spruce and birch, and those in former farm fields. Some are large and deep, some not so much. From the campground it is an easy walk to the beach and to trails. The campground has plenty of bathhouses with hot showers as well as an adequate laundry — 6 machines, 5 working. There are bike paths everywhere, and as in the Stanhope section, most people bike everywhere.

As you approach the Cavendish section of the NP you drive through a very “touristy” area — amusement and water parks, restaurants, and gift shops but also groceries, banks, and fuel stops. In July there is a music festival that draws thousands — in 2019 Carrie Underwood was one of the attractions.
