Fisherman’s Wharf Lobster Supper

One of the “things” to do on PEI is got to a lobster supper. At certain times of the year these are held in church social halls as a way of raising money. However, there are two near us, New Glasgow Lobster Supper and Fisherman’s Wharf Lobster Supper. We chose the latter as it served from noon to 8:30 rather than 4:00 to 8:00 so we could go there for a late lunch.

After stopping at a farm market, liquor outlet, pottery shop, and small grocery, we arrived at the restaurant.

The standard meal is all you can eat seafood chowder, mussels, and salads with your choice of main dish (whole lobster, scallops, shrimp, haddock) followed by desserts with coffee or tea. Everything was very good, but of course we ate too much. The chowder had an excellent flavor and was full of seafood. The mussels were large and flavorful. So many salads — all quite tasty. Janet’s favorites were the slaw, bean and corn, tomatoes with parsley and onions, and a potato salad made with russets. I enjoyed my scallops and David his lobster, but frankly, I would have been happy with salads, chowder, and mussels.

After lunch we walked along the North Rustico wharf where we found a nice fish store where we will stop tomorrow on our way to our new campground. Then we drove to Brackley Beach where we took a nap before walking the beach. Today the rangers had been encouraging sand castle building so there were lots of interesting creations along the shore — but not for long as the tide was moving in.
