Hay Lake CG, MN

We had a strong tailwind most of the way from Bismarck to our campground outside of Duluth. The entire drive is through farm land and vacant land with lots of small lakes and pools of water left from the recent heavy rains.

The road to the lake was a well-maintained dirt.gravel road off of MN65 south of Jacobson. The sites by the lake (but without views of the lake) are level with picnic tables and fire rings. There are pit toilets and trash cans. The resent torrential rains brought pools of water but also MOSQUITOES.

After picking up a payment envelope, we kept the van closed. Payments here are made on line or by mailing a check to Minnesota State Parks and Trails.
