El Paso to Lubbock

We are headed home. Earlier than planned, but we would like to head to Pennsylvania to help Janet’s sister move out of her house which she has sold.

Today we drove from El Paso to Lubbock Texas. We didn’t pass many interesting places except for the Guadeloupe Mountains National Park and the entrance to Carlsbad Caverns National Park. The latter we had visited in 2004, the former we may return to hike in the future. In general the terrain was flat and scrubby. Once we crossed the NM/TX border, there was a great deal of agriculture — cotton, peanuts, alfalfa, and who knows what.
