Tucson to Organ Pipe National Monument

Tucson to Organ Pipe National Monument

We left Catalina State Park and headed west and then south through the Tohono O’Odham Nation Reservation.  The drive takes one through lots of cactus — saguaro — and plenty of scrubby, barren land, but the mountains in the distance make it enjoyable.

We arrived at Organ Pipe National Monument and secured a nice camping site for five nights.  The campground here is nicely laid out, but has no water or electric hookups, through there is water available, a dump, and bathrooms with flush toilets and solar showers.  Extremely pleasant.  Our ATT wireless works well which was a surprise. The visitor center has Wi-Fi but it is too far from our repeater to pick it up from the campground.
