Return to the Cabin in the Woods

We returned to Steven and Sarah’s cabin near Mercer to spend two nights.  Steven, Wyatt, and Clay came up on Sunday, arriving around noon.  We had a pizza lunch on their picnic table overlooking the water.  It was a gorgeous, 79-degree day — a bit unexpected for October 11.

We spent the afternoon cleaning out the cupboards and refrigerator, pulling in the dock, and draining the water system.  Wyatt and Clay listened to the Packers game and kept us informed as to the Packers’ eventual win over the Rams.  In the afternoon while the game was on, there was no wind so the lake was completely quiet.  When the Packers made a great play, or a terrible one, you could hear the reaction from the fishermen out on the lake.  I guess everyone was listening to the game.

We made two drone flights with our DJI Inspire 1 to catch two different sun angles.

We cooked our dinner on a fire built in the fire ring in front of the cabin:  rib steak, green beans, white and sweet potatoes, and a salad.  As the evening wore on, the wind came up and the temperature began to fall.

We get good AT&T 4G at the cabin, but only PBS on TV.
