Fun at the cabin in northern Wisconsin

Before their busy summer season began, we spent a few days with Steven, Sarah, and Clay at their cabin near Mercer. We took some nice walks (Steven and family are trying to visit all the waterfalls in the area), visited a huge antique mall in Ironwood MI, and had a good lunch and beer there also. In the evening we went out in the boat for a little tour around the lake, checking out the loons and bald eagles.

Steven and Sarah are building a second cabin — the bank house next to the current one. A new well has been dug and new septic system. The materials and windows have been delivered, but they are still waiting for the foundation to be dug and poured. The goal is to have it up before winter.

After leaving Mercer, we headed south, making an overnight stop at cousin Kathleen’s in Barneveld WI.
