Hike to Crane Prairie Reservoir dam

With the cell booster and our hot spot, we have amazing internet even though we are in the woods, on the side of a lake, with a view of Mt Bachelor and the Sisters.

Because we have good internet, Amanda was able to spend the night and work for several hours before we took a walk.

Our destination was the boat ramp on this side of the reservoir and the dam. Most of the walk was along the shaded gravel road, but we detoured down to the water on social paths whenever possible. The walk with return was 4.2 miles and very pleasant. Louie walked with us and probably walked twice as far as he runs ahead and then runs back to check on us. In addition, he jumped into the lake at every opportunity. By the time we got back to camp he was very ready to lie down and relax in the shade.

While we were away we had left the van charging our house batteries. Two hours of charging added 45 % to our state of charge, enough for about two more days.

Kate and Dylan and Brian joined us around six and we enjoyed chicken quarters, salad, and vegetables then sat around the fire trying to keep warm. After a week of warm weather, daily highs will be in the low sixties with nights in the 30s. Not bad except for the strong winds off the lake.
