Goldwater Lake Hike
First thing this morning we drove down the mountain into Prescott to do some grocery shopping. Prescott is a busy town with a charming “old town.” I hope we will find the time to wander around there — lots of interesting looking restaurants and artsy shops.
After shopping, we headed out to Barry Goldwater Lakes, ate our lunch, and hiked along the south side of the upper lake. We are not permitted to cross the dam and there is no path across the outlet stream, so once we reached the dam, we turned around. It was a pleasant 2 miles with quite a few birds on the lake and some snow on the path. With the nights being so cool — upper 20s last night — and the days in the mid- to upper 60s the snow stays in any place the sun doesn’t hit.
