Crystal Hill Hike – Day 7
Best weather of the week today, sunny and slightly breezy. However, as the day progressed, it became VERY windy.
We set off in the morning to actually climb Crystal Hill. There is no designated path, just lots of fairly well-worn social paths. Even though no tools or digging is permitted on the hill, there is plenty of evidence of digging on the outcrops. The hiking is pleasant though the loose shale occasionally feels less than reassuring.
We climbed up to the second highest ridge, then followed the ridge north before working our way back to the desert floor. Found a few more small, clear crystals. We can each take ten home with us if we want.
