Martin Creek Lake State Park
Today was a perfect day. It started with a light rain, but soon the skies cleared and the sun shone.
We stopped mid-afternoon at a Texas state park. It was amazing. Lots of gum trees, pine, and oak trees. A large reservoir with an island to explore. Widely spaced sites. But the best part, we are the only people here. Our own private campground.
We took a 1.5 mile hike then cooked some more of our leftovers for dinner. We need to empty the refigerator before we fly off to Belize.
Review of Martin Creek Lake State Park: 58 sites. Some sites have cabins. Some are for camping. All have either 30 or 50 amp service with water. There is a premium for lake side sites. Campsite rates range from 13 to 23 dollars. Boat ramp. Lots of parking for day use. If there is a draw back it is the large power plant on the other side of the lake. (But it is beautiful when it is lit at night.)
