Bozeman MT to Buffalo Gap SD
Long drive today. Outside of Bozeman it was very green, but as we traveled east the only green was in the valleys and where they were irrigating. Very flat with occasional rock outcrops and mounds.
We kept driving longer than usual because it was very hot — 100-plus degrees — so we were not interested in stopping to hike.
The Buffalo Gap campground in the National grassland is right off I-94 so it is a convenient overnight stop. Fortunately it has a number of trees so we were able to camp in the shade in site 13. Fee for the night is $20, but just $10 for Seniors.
