Acton MA
We spent two nights with Page and Charlie at their new home in Acton MA. It’s a great house with a rural feel because of conservation land located in their backyard. It has a number of changes and repairs calling to them, but is a comfortable home until they are done. The cupboard we picked up in PA is a perfect match for the one in their dining room — another ebay score!
Thursday morning we drove to Rockport for dinner at Brackett’s Oceanview (excellent fish dinner) and to hear the Borromeo Quartet at Shalin Liu Hall. The hall is incredible; the wall behind the performers is all glass providing a view of the water, cliffs, and birds sailing about. Inside, the hall is a pleasant mixture of textures — smooth wood, rough angular stone, and soft lighted globes. The concert of baroque music (with one world premier) was equally as stimulating to the senses.
The traffic on the drive to Rockport reminded us why we choose not to live on the east coast — an hour and three quarters to drive 50 miles. But worth it.
Before leaving Page’s, David took the drone up to survey the area.
