Illinois-Iowa-Wisconsin Travels

After a successful monthly check of my eye following cataract surgery, we headed west. Immediate goal: Davenport IA.

We stopped for the night at Moraine View SRA – Gander CG. The campground is a very pleasant series of loops, with plenty of trees providing shade and privacy. The sites near the lake were mostly occupied or reserved (a large group of classic Airstreams occupied most), but we found a private place under an oak tree not far from the entrance. The shade was appreciated as it was very hot, above 90, with only occasional breeze.

We enjoyed sitting in the shade reading, had a cold dinner of salad and hummus, then broke down and turned on the air conditioner.
