Moraine View SRA
Still hot, but better. In the morning we took a walk around the nature trail and to the beach. There are not many trails within walking distance of the campground, but the walk along the road is pleasant because there is little traffic. One cannot bush-whack here as there is lots of poison ivy. Lots of fishermen here; the two we talked with had caught catfish, but there are supposed to be bass, walleye, and bluegills.
After returning to our campsite, we decided to have a big wood-fired dinner for late lunch – steak, squash, sweet and white potatoes, and salad. The afternoon was spent relaxing.
The most notable thing about the park is the plethora of dead ash. Unfortunately many of the shade trees for the campground are either dead or dying. At the beach, many have been taken down, but there is still a lot of work to do.
