Davis Bayou

The Gulf Island National Seashore extends along the entire Gulf Coast, but it not the entire coast. Bits and pieces of the coast have been designated as the National seashore. We stayed at and hiked in the David Bayou section in Ocean Springs, MS.

Our hike was a very pleasant three miles that took us through pine and oak scrub with view of the gulf and marshes. We saw turtles sunning on downed trees and had one alligator sighting. Nice walk with few other hikers.

As there was no room in the National Park campground, we ended up spending the night at a Walmart and once again we could watch our beloved Packers. The game did not disappoint, but the results did as they lost in overtime.
