Yuma AZ

We drove the 2.5 hours to Yuma to do some chores — grocery shopping, laundry, and fuel.  The only highlight of the drive was a look at the old Ajo copper mine just south of the town.  I must remark that the town of Ajo is one of the loveliest old Spanish type towns I have seen. Two years ago when we were here, we spent some time walking around and taking pictures, but today we just continued on through.

After completing our chores, we decided to spend the night in Yuma and chose the Cocopah Casino RV area south of town.  They have a huge marked area for RVs.  One has to choose a spot, then go inside to pay $6.00 for the night to get a hang tag for the van.  It was a fine place to stay except for the military jets flying overhead until about 10 PM. Good TV and cell reception.
