Palm Canyon Day 3
Day 3: A storm is heading our way with high winds arriving first, then rain expected overnight. We took a hike to a hill about 1/2 mile from our van. We then walked up to the nearest of three peaks. The desert floor is amazing — huge flat mesa covered uniformly with small rocks. The washes here are easy to cross as they are not too deep. In the washes we can see evidence of what I assume are bighorn sheep — foot prints and poop piles — but they could be mule deer. On the hillside are larger rocks which have settled into terraces — almost as if they had been placed by a landscape gardener. The terraces made hiking up and down the hill easy.
