More Lake Wissota Trails
Our 4-mile walk took us along the Lake, Beaver Nature, Staghorn, and Jack Pine Trails. Along the way we hunted for a few geocaches — not always successfully.
These trails took us through an area of 100-year-old pines where the forest floor was covered in places by a carpet of skunk cabbage and Cinnamon ferns. Gorgeous.
The only wildlife to be seen was a chipmunk, a squirrel, and large pile of grey feathers — the remains of someone’s breakfast.
In summary, the trails in this park are wonderful — level, mostly shaded, and well-maintained. We really have enjoyed them.
