Klamath Falls
We left Crater Lake NP and headed south to Klamath Falls. There were some pretty stops along the way. Unfortunately there was quite a bit of smoke, first in 5 days, so the Sister mountains and others to the west were obscured.
In Klamath Falls we shopped at Fred Meyer and purchased groceries and fuel. Since we were in a shady part of the parking lot, we sat and took advantage of better internet than we had had in the National park.
Before heading north to our campground for the night we drove to the park with an overlook of the falls and dam which create Upper Klamath Lake. But the roads on the east side of the late were all closed and we didn’t feel we had time to cross to the west side and hike in.
A short drive north from Klamath falls is our campground — Collier Memorial State Park. We settled in to eat dinner outside with a number of fat ground squirrels to keep us company.
