On the road again

We planned to start our winter adventure sometime after the 6th.  The weather and storms did not cooperate until the 10th. Our trip took us through Illinois and Arkansas into Texas.  The driving was difficult because of high winds and some rain but we made good time.  We stopped for the nights in Marion, IL where we had a great meal at Thai-D, as good as would be found in a large city; Bryant, AK; and Plano, TX, where we tried the LA Burger (Korean fusion).

Our goal was to make it to Grapevine, TX (near Dallas) where we could get our Sprinter serviced.  Beside needing a 10000 mile oil service, our cabin blower fan quit, then somewhere on the way to Dallas, our dashboard lit up with nearly every possible warning message — ESR, ABS, check engine…

So we spent Friday the 13th in the Park Place MB service center while they diagnosed the problems, which took the day. We will return on Monday when they have the parts and will do the repairs.  For the evening, we were able to take the van to the Cedar Hill State Park south of Dallas.
