Village Point Park Preserve

Village Point Park Preserve

Slow-ish start this morning with some housekeeping chores, followed by lunch at the Original Oyster House on Route 90. Nice restaurant on stilts overlooking the marsh lands in the estuary. Lunch was good, but not fantastic. David had grilled shrimp (particularly good) and fried flounder. I had grilled mahi and fried oysters (really good). Each meal included a salad bar and a side (grits and turnips). Would return, but there might be better restaurants.

After lunch we took a hike at the Village Point Park Preserve. It is touted as a gem of a walk right near the city. It was nice, but unfortunately needs a policing for trash. However, it had nice boardwalks and piers which made for an easy and pleasant 2-mile walk.

After a bit more time parked outside the Spanish Fort library to take advantage of their wifi we headed back to our campsite where we skipped dinner after a heavy lunch.
