Williston

This was just a drive through and grocery shop town – Route 85 meets Route 2 here – but it is worth mentioning.  In this area we saw in full force the effects of the ND energy boom.  Oil fields everywhere.  Semis, tankers, and haulers everywhere.  Pre-fab housing plopped down on what used to be beautiful hay and wheat fields.  The roads are heavily traveled and being rebuilt probably because of the damage from all the heavy traffic.  It was very pleasant to head west into Montana and escape the commotion.
